A: August 14, 2025
Q: What platforms will Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition be available for?
A: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition will be available for PC on the Steam and GOG storefronts.
Q: How much will Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition cost?
A: USD$29.99
Q: I own the Dawn of War – Anniversary Edition, do I get a discount?
A: Yes! There will be a 30% discount for players who own the Anniversary Edition on Steam or GOG.
Q: What languages will Dawn of War: Definitive Edition support?
A: Most of the original translations for the game will be available at launch with the addition of full text support for Simplified Chinese. We’ll have more news on all the language options for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition closer to its release date.
Q: Is the minimum recommended specification on the Steam Store page accurate?
A: This is a conservative preliminary minimum specification. Further optimization during development will bring this down before launch.
Q: Will you be adding any new content or post-launch DLC?
A: No. Our focus is on delivering the ultimate Dawn of War experience when we launch the Definitive Edition later this year – that means everything players know and love from the original game all in one package. We’ll keep an eye out for any critical issues or bugs that need to be addressed after launch, but our primary goal is to optimize Dawn of War for modern hardware.
Q: Will you be making any multiplayer balance changes or quality of life improvements?
A: Though our primary focus is on updating the game for modern hardware, we have been keeping a close eye on your feedback. Multiplayer balance will mostly remain the same; however, we have been fixing some of the most egregious legacy bugs that should help improve the multiplayer experience. Though not all legacy bugs will be addressed for launch, we plan to be on standby to hot fix any high priority issues after the game’s official release. In addition to that, we are experimenting with changes to high impact items to improve general gameplay, such as the behavior of flying units or the pathing of infantry and vehicles, along with quality-of-life settings such as grid key presets.
Q: Does this mean that we’ll also get a new version of Dawn of War 2 or any other Relic Entertainment games?
A: We can only talk about games that we have announced. Right now, we’re focused on supporting the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Definitive Edition and our other released and upcoming Relic games.
Q: When will you share more information about the updates and improvements to the game?
A: In the lead up to our August launch, we have lots to share from the development team in blogs, videos, and livestreams. Join the official Relic Entertainment Discord server to stay up to date on the latest.
