Stratus: bridge segment erosion system

Stratus Test Build Update – Bridge Erosion System Improvements

Watch on YouTube

Over the past several days, development has been focused on further expanding and refining the bridge erosion system. A new patch has now been deployed to the testing build featuring the following improvements:

Bridge System Updates

1. Erosion Logic Improvements

  • Bridge erosion now only occurs on unlinked bridge sections.

  • Sections that remain connected to valid island anchors and connection points will no longer be incorrectly targeted by the erosion system.

2. Visual Erosion Effects

  • Bridge segments marked for erosion will now progressively display cracking effects.

  • The severity of the cracks increases over time, providing clear visual feedback to players before the segment ultimately breaks apart and crumbles.

Testing Now Available

These latest bridge system updates have been included in a new test build patch and are now available for players participating in the current testing branch.

Community testing continues to play an important role in helping identify edge cases and ensuring the system performs reliably in multiplayer environments. Feedback from testers will help guide the next phase of bridge development and refinement.

Work Continues

While there are still several elements of the bridge system that require additional polishing and testing, development progress has accelerated significantly. With the core erosion mechanics now functioning as intended, attention is shifting toward improving stability, visual presentation, and overall gameplay flow.

More bridge-related improvements and fixes are planned for upcoming test build updates.
