This is my very first post here on Steam, so first off, welcome, and thank you for taking an interest in my game!
Space Base Defense is a base defense project I’ve been building for a while now. It started as a small idea, something I chipped away at during quiet moments between work and family life. Back then, I had one daughter. Now, I have two.
In many ways, the game has grown up alongside my family. It’s been built during late nights, short nap windows, the small gaps between bottles, bedtime stories, and everyday chaos, all while balancing a full-time job. Every wave system, every turret mechanic, every UI pass has been crafted in those moments. Progress has been slow — but incredibly rewarding.
The Demo Is Now Live
Today, I’m excited (and a little nervous) to finally release the first public demo of Space Base Defense.
You can download it right now on Steam and get a hands-on look at what I’ve been working on. The first level of the game is freely available in this demo. Please feel free to give me any feedback on my work. The preferred channel for this is the discord server linked in the game.
What’s in the Demo
One full playable planet
A selection of unit types and enemies
Functional core mechanics and a solid sense of the game’s pace and tone
Why Now
This demo is a milestone for me. A chance to take everything I’ve been working on quietly in the background and finally share it with players. Your feedback at this stage is incredibly important. Whether it’s a gameplay tweak, a feature idea, or a bug report, I’m all ears.
What’s Next
The full game is still in development, and this is just the beginning. I’m continuing work on:
More enemy types
More planets
Additional defending units
UI polish and quality-of-life improvements
Difficulty tuning based on demo feedback
Thanks again for being here and checking out the game. I hope you enjoy the demo, and I’m looking forward to hearing what you think.
Yuri
