A new update to The Descendant across all 3 Episodes has been released. The update will be applied automatically when you restart the game. Here is a list of new features, fixes and known issues:
NEW FEATURES (all episodes if not specified):
- Gaming Corps is now working with SIDE UK, Europe’s award-winning leader in providing casting services to the video games industry. As a result, all voice performances in The Descendant have been upgraded with top talents from the Entertainment Industry which is a major improvement to the story flow. We highly recommend you to replay Episode 1 and 2 before starting Episode 3 to enjoy the full experience.
- Added video "NEXT TIME ON THE DESCENDANT" at the end of Episode 2
FIXES
- Fixed an issue in Episodes menu preventing Episode 3 to start after having completed Episode 2
- Fixed several sound glitches including sound level issues
- Fixed and issue where some sounds would be missing
- Achievement "20th Century box" now triggers at the correct time (Episode 3)
- Fixed an issue that could make some interactions in the storage area inaccessible in non-standard resolutions (Episode 3)
- Fixed some subtitle lines to match dialogues
KNOWN ISSUES
- Changing the screen resolution twice in the same session will not register the second change. For the change to take effect you will need to restart the game
- A confirmation message is missing when changing resolution settings
- In some cases, character voices might be slightly out-of-sync during episodes 1 and 2
- Save Slots functionality is a work in progress and will release soon, please don't mess with it yet!
- Mute doesn't completely stop the sounds but instead plays at a very low volume
- Music levels can be uneven from time to time
- In rare cases the circuit board puzzle in the Air Filtration Tower might not complete. The temporary workaround is to remove all the pieces and assemble the puzzle again, in Episode 3
- The Previously On The Descendant & Next Time On The Descendant videos have strong compression and low frame rate issues
- In rare cases a crash could occur during the transition between the Air Filtration Tower Inside and Outside in Episode 2
- In rare cases, the number of killed descendants at the end of Episode 3 would show the wrong number
