Beta Update: Kinesthetic Kumquat

STEAM ACHIEVEMENTS

  • We added them!

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed tons of bugs relating to the save/load system
  • Fixed tons of bugs that could occur if player fired a teacher that was casting a spell
  • Fixed some issues with children turning into pineapples
  • Corrected various UI glitches
  • Corrected some typos
  • Fixed: in 2nd level (Ananas Pleito), it is possible to break the tutorial by not firing both teachers at the same time

BALANCE

  • Changed rules for parent phone calls: they always resolve at sunset
  • Changed rules for money: the budget and recharging of teachers is adjusted at sunset (instead of sunrise)
  • Can no longer fire/hire at night
  • Added an extra $5,000 at the start of the Frederick Jackson Turner School scenario (4th level)
  • Lengthened duration of William Walker (3rd level)
  • Hiring cost increases per subject whenever player hires a teacher

AI

  • Added two new child traits: "Enemy" and "Frenemy"
  • Changed some child quest outcomes to create Enemies

UI / UX

  • Admin buttons only work in daytime
  • School grade is hidden until teachers have cast spells
  • Added a big message for when teachers are paid
  • Added text to teacher panel indicating recharge rate
  • Checkmarks added to the checkboxes in New Bellona (map) screen
  • "Skip Tutorial" button is now labeled "Disable Tutorial" and only skips tutorials for the current scenario
  • Added main menu button
  • Added scale tween to major notifications

ART

  • Polished a bunch of animations
  • Improved textures for children and female teacher

KNOWN ISSUES

  • We need a lot more feedback on levels beyond level 4.
  • We've heard that some Linux users are having trouble launching or seeing much of the game. Are you having that problem? If so, please send output.txt (located in the data folder) to subalterngames at gmail dot com
  • There are still a view issues with children entering bathroom stalls
