Announcing the official release of the BlastZone 2 Steamworks Multiplayer update! This makes online multiplayer much easier to setup than before by providing a list of your friends in-game to play with. Also, Steamworks eliminates the technical setup required for Direct IP multiplayer support, allowing you to jump right into a game!
This has been one of the biggest feature requests for the game as very few shmup games support online multiplayer. Playing BlastZone 2 with a friend adds a whole new dimension to the game, especially when each player selects a ship with complimentary stats and executes a strategy to leverage them. Every game mode supports multiplayer as well, so go ahead and experiment to find the most enjoyable mode for you and your friend! Also, the leaderboards have separate categories for multiplayer games, so you can compete with other teams around the world for the best highscore!
Demo players also have access to Steamworks Multiplayer, so try it out!
A lot of work has been put into this update and it has been optimized to provide the smoothest and lowest latency gameplay possible. As always, any feedback is welcome in the discussion boards. Have fun!
