BETA Version Available!

Thank you all for the many, many great ideas and suggestions!
As of today, there is a „beta“ branch available for those who are interested to try out the latest and greatest features of Natural Soccer. As these features are „cutting edge“ and might contain bugs, they are first only available to those of you who actively select the „beta“ from the game’s properties in the STEAM client.
Your feedback to the beta version is very valuable to me and greatly appreciated.
Please help to find any problems or bugs the new features might have added to the game, so that I can fix them before they become available in the public release version for everyone!
What’s new?
The beta version contains these new features:
Greatly Improved Set Pieces Controls
There is now a visual indicator on set pieces (except penalties), and you generally have options when executing them:
- Shoot the ball using the indicator. Move the stick to change the direction or height of the trajectory. Once satisfied, start pressing SHOOT and release it once the desired shot power is reached. Remember to apply Aftertouch on free kicks for most dangerous attempts, as it even gets slightly boosted compared to normal play.
- Shoot the ball manually without the help of the indicator. Just ignore the gauge, move the stick in the desired shooting direction and press and hold CHIP to shoot. The longer you hold the button, the stronger and higher the shot will be.
- Pass the ball using the indicator. Adjust the indicator so that it point towards the team mate you want to pass to. Center the stick and push PASS to pass.
- Pass the ball manually. Just ignore the gauge altogether, move and hold the stick in the direction of the team mate to pass to and press PASS.
Set Tactics Balance
You can now change tactics balance in-game. Hold PAUSE button down until „NEUTRAL“ appears in your score display. Move stick in your team's direction to change balance towards attack, or in the opposite direction to change balance towards defense.
Added Offside Rule
You can now optionally play with the offside rule applied.
Greatly Improved Players’ Positional Play on Corner Kicks
Both teams will now setup in a much more realistic way, making corner kicks more realistic and dramatic.
Many Various Gameplay Improvements
I also tweaked the gameplay and AI in various ways to futher improve the game.
What’s Next?
Natural Soccer is in constant development. The - by far - most requested feature is an Editor to change team and player names. As this is a rather heavy task it’s not yet done now, but I am already making good progress.
