Hello everyone!
I’m the developer of XenoHaven, a sandbox survival RPG currently in development. If you’re a fan of sandbox survival experiences, please consider adding the game to your Wishlist—your support really helps us a lot! 💖
It’s been about a month since our last dev log update. During this time, besides continuing to optimize the game and fix bugs, we’ve also been working on implementing some new ideas. You can watch the video here , or scroll down for screenshots and details.
🕹️ New Feature: Dungeon Exploration
Previously, we talked about the new Demon Servants System, which focused on strengthening your Demon Servants. However, one problem remained: while Demon Servants are powerful, the player character often feels fragile—many times, your Demon Servants are still fighting even after you’re already dead.
To address this, we wanted players themselves to grow stronger through progression. That’s why we decided to add dungeon exploration!
● You can now craft and place staircases to open passages leading underground.
● Some regions on the world map may also generate staircases that take you into underground zones of that biome.
● Inside dungeons, you can mine resources with your pickaxe, fight monsters for materials, and even challenge dungeon bosses.
Defeating bosses rewards you with random-quality accessories that improve your stats or grant special ability effects.
💍 Accessory System
Accessories come in two categories: special accessories (1 slot) and general accessories (4 slots).
● Special accessories offer unique power boosts.
● General accessories include a wide range of buffs and effects.
Accessories can be obtained from:
● Dungeon boss drops
● Treasure chests in the wild
● Bio-Lab genetic patches, which can also be equipped in general accessory slots.
🌍 New Biomes & Map Updates
Open the map and you’ll notice some changes! We’ve added more biome environments, including:
● The eerie and sinister Demon Forest
● The desolate and dangerous Volcano biome
We also refined the way map tiles represent different features:
● Desert tiles with houses indicate a village
● Desert tiles with flags indicate bandit/rebel camps
🎨 UI Improvements
Some of you may also notice slight changes in the UI. This is an area where we’ve received lots of feedback, and while it’s impossible to satisfy everyone’s preferences, we’ll continue to refine the interface step by step. Please keep sharing your thoughts with us—we really value your input!
That’s all for this dev log!
