Lend me a hand! (Beta Branch)

There is a beta branch I configured in Steam. I compiled the game differently to see if it would make Game Maker behave better with save files. Unfortunately, this compile cant see the Maps/Backgrounds/Tiles folder at where they are currently installed and it would take some ground work to fix that.

So I figured I'd reach out to the more tech savvy to switch to this beta branch, manually move the files to the correct location and play with that installation for a little while, before I'd start doing work on that. I want to see if this installation set up is any good before proceeding any further with it. You can then post in the forums if anything weird happens.

To opt into the beta:
1. Right click B-Man in your library
2. Click Properties, then the Betas tab
3. Click the drop down and select "alternate", then Close
4. Re-install the game.

The beta has 0 game play differences, it is simply a different file set up. You should still be able to play with anyone with or without the beta build. After you install the beta branch, it should look like this: http://i.imgur.com/tIAZVOM.png

(if it doesnt, you will need to uninstall the game, restart Steam, then reinstall the game)

Now for the tricky part. You will need to go into your Boring Man Steam install folder and take all the folders in there (except BoringEditor) and move it to the BoringManGame AppData folder. If you don't do this, you'll get a "map not found" error if you try to play on a server. If you have no idea what I just said, I'd just sit this one out.

If you installed the beta version but no longer want it, simply folllow the beta install instructions again but instead select "default" instead of "alternate" to revert the beta installation.

If any of you can do this, especially any of you who's had their save erased in the past, please do. If your save has been erased from the past few days (i said DAYS, not weeks or months), please comment below which Windows version you are using, and check out the Technical FAQ here to see if you can recover it: http://steamcommunity.com/app/346120/discussions/0/485623406944171961/

Thanks

EDIT:

**DO NOT PUT YOUR CUSTOM MAPS/BACKGROUNDS/TILES WHILE USING THIS VERSION**

It will get deleted when you start the game. Instead, three folders will generate in the AppData folder. Place your custom maps in a folder called "CustomMaps". Then place any custom backgrounds/tiles you may have for your custom maps in their respective CustomTiles/CustomBackgrounds folders.

I updated the alternate branch. The beta now properly saves maps/backgrounds/tiles to the AppData folder automatically, so you should no longer need to do that part. It also deletes them before copying them again. (The files are now built inside the game)
