Some optimisation has been made to the "Low" quality setting for Steam Deck users. In my own testing the OLED Deck it was sitting at a pretty stable 40 FPS. Please let me know if issues occur on it.
There is a lot more work to be done for Deck, which will happen in the near future, but I wanted to get some pure performance issues fixed asap.
