Future Updates

A few more bugs here and there have been called to my attention and I will be addressing them shortly. I appreciate all of your help in finding and reporting them to me.

During the final stages of development the source file I spent 6 years working had to be imported into a separate newer program, which is the reason why a lot of the unforeseen errors suddenly popped up just before release. I am committed to finding and fixing them all as soon as possible, having spent the entire holiday season staying up for 40 hours at a time fixing them all. A few, however, still remain.

Here's a list of problems that exist in the current version but will soon be fixed with the next patch:

• Customizing the keyboard keys with the keyboard itself causes problems for some people. (Changing them with the mouse should work now)

• Goblin Wizard Boss has a special projectile that might crash the game if it makes contact with certain players. (It's supposed to turn them into a goblin)

• If you press Pause too many times too quickly it can cause serious errors.

• Other miscellaneous crash errors involving specific enemies.

These will all be rectified immediately. There are also a lot of people requesting that the dialogue/text boxes and such should be able to be cycled through by pressing a button, instead of having to sit and wait through it all. This might take me a while to implement simply because there are so many of them, and since it's not a high priority at the moment I'm going to handle all of the serious errors first. But I will try to get on that as well since it is such a common request.

Also, a lot of people have brought up Online play or have asked about it frequently. I regret to inform everyone that there are no plans for an Online Mode in this particular game, but with enough success and momentum it is possible that we might see it featured in future games. It would more than likely start out small like perhaps Online Versus Mode only in one game, and then hopefully it would grow to one day be fully implemented for a Co-op Campaign Mode in a separate game later down the line.

Another common complaint is the long loading time when you initially start up the game. This is due to it's size and number of mp3's that it has to load. I am looking to find a solution to this problem so that it boots faster.

It's also worth noting that I have plans to release Mac and Linux versions of The Dream King very soon, possibly within the next month or two. Mobile ports and others are also on the horizon. I am also looking into perhaps translating the game into multiple languages, but this is something that could take a great deal of time and might not be fully implemented until much later on.

One more thing: A playable demo is coming soon. There will be both an executable as well as an HTML5 version of the demo that you can play in your web browser. (you must use Chrome in order for gamepads to function however)

Thank you very much for all of your patience and understanding, and for helping me find these bugs. If there are any more you would like to report, feel free to email them to: [email protected]
Thanks again for all of your support!
