Alpha v2.02 is here!

Hey guys, sorry this update took so long, there was a lot of work that needed to be done on the game to make it more stable, less buggy, and have better graphics.

What's New?

  • New driver model - will be the protagonist of the story, nicknamed "Lazarus" (yes it's a cliché lol), also added a new IK system for realistic driver animation and steering
  • Changed from Gamma Color Space to Linear Color Space - apparently choosing something from a dropdown menu seemed to make a huge difference in lighting
  • Changed from DirectX 9 to DirectX 11 - Not really noticable, but should just look a little better in general and gives me more options for shader coding. The game can still run on DX9 systems, can someone confirm that for me?
  • Fixed some reflection probes on the maps, they now appear less dull and grey and more vibrant now
  • Telemetry System - added a whole bunch of gui that provides accurate and realtime information about the car such as torque, rpm, clutch status, fuel level, steering wheel position, current gear, and speed. Race data is also shown (current lap, checkpoint, lap time, race time)
  • Lap system - The game now has a lap system with a race time and a lap time
  • New Car - Trophy Truck
  • Re-added Stunt Plane with basic island map (temporary)
  • Re-designed Serato Conquistador - Redid the back with a glass engine cover, cleaned up some imperfections on the body.
  • Color picker for all cars
  • Normal Mapped tire textures for better lighting
  • Cabin lights for all cars (linear lighting gets darker at night than Gamma lighting)
  • Fixed headlight intensities and distances (again, linear lighting functions differently)
  • Cinema quality Motion Blur - realistic looking motion blur added to cameras, costs about 5-10 fps depending on system (I have a 4gb GTX 960 and the game runs between 55-120 fps on max settings depending on the car and map)
  • Basic settings menu incorporated into pause menu

Ill be on vacation from the 12th to the 22nd in the Dominican Republic and probably will have very limited wifi or time to respond to people on the forums and wont be able to work on the game so the next update will be delayed a little.

ps: I will patch in a settings menu in a few days for those with low-end computers to finetune graphics settings more precisely rather than just choosing from a list of preconfigured settings. Also, I have found out whats causing the excessive flickering on the cars and maps, its the Bloom effect, no matter what value its set to it always produces that flicker, Im working on a solution for it. The stuntplane is also a bit buggy, there's still issues with the wheels and the map isn't the best quality but those will be fixed shortly. Also the camera in the main menu sometimes clips through the plane because its huge compared to the cars, thats also being fixed

Anyways, enjoy the update!
