State of the game | 10th Dec 2014

Hi everyone, we're pleased to announce that we're on Early Access after being Greenlit in just 13 days.

This post is just to clarify the current state of the game and what's still to come up.

Pricing

The current price of £4.99 will remain in place for the duration of the alpha phase (expected to continue into early 2015). When the game moves out of alpha into beta, the price will likely increase.

Content

Much of the content in the game is still to come, so the current version (0.0.0.3) is a somewhat of a short playthrough (although the roguelike nature of the game means you can play it over and over).

The current build includes only 1 sector map (which is around 8-12 mission "nodes" / shops). The final game will have multiple sector maps which we're hoping to introduce soon.

In addtion, the game will conclude with a "final battle" scenario which has still to be added.

Each mission node has a chance to spawn different story types (main story, random mission, etc) and mission types (defend, capture, escort), not all of which are currently in the game.

Ships

There are 4 ships playable in game right now (you can have more than 1 in your fleet), with several more ship types becoming available with future content updates.

Upgrades

There are a selection of basic weapon and support system upgrades available in the shops just now, although not all are currently attainable.

Feedback

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the community forums here on Steam or on our forums.

On behalf of the team here at Blazing Griffin, we'd like to thank you for taking part in the alpha release of Distant Star.
