Update 0.40 - Tread Lightly

Hey Everyone,

Update 0.4 brings in a huge host of changes, from gunplay, to environmental additions, spectator mode, large CPU optimizations and more!

Read on for the full patch notes.

Additions and Improvements

  • Added landmines -Landmines detonate 1.5 seconds after being triggered by the player - although if you are fast enough with your hands, you can defuse the landmine before it explodes, and re-plant it anywhere you want
  • Added minefield near the US Base -The US Base had little to no drawbacks as an initial location for players to head to. This change increases the risk of heading there, via the direct route.
  • Added minefield near & around the Old Airfield -Combined with the current amount of snakes around the Old Airfield, the new Minefield should make players think twice before bee lining there at the start of each round
  • You can now grab large environmental objects (like fuel cans or vases) out of players hands
  • Added hip fire penalty - some guns will now have decreased accuracy when hip firing (for instance, guns like the Scout are hit hard by this nerf, although SMGs like the Vityaz are unaffected)
  • Added medical suitcases -These suitcases should be found rarely in houses around the map, and will typically spawn high level medical loot
  • Added the "Demolition Expert" perk (5 perk points) -Make any placed explosive (including mines) 200% more lethal with this new perk!
  • Improved Axe collision hitboxes
  • Playable area in Practice mode rebalanced, doesn't decrease as quickly now
  • New Freecam mode when spectating - use F1 (first person) and F4 (free cam) to switch

Bug fixes

  • Various large CPU optimizations
  • Fixed shovel hitboxes blocking interaction
  • Fixed incorrect placement of fabric on some houses in Doda
  • Added collision to some environmental objects that didn't have it
  • Dead birds now obey the laws of physics (they should now stop rolling after time)
  • Fixed HP Pistol & Scout UI text
