Wake up Kingdom, it's time for another From The Court! We love asking the devs about their inspirations and thought processes during development and sharing them when you!
Have you ever paid much attention to the background in game?
I know I wanted to put little animations everywhere in the game, because generally not a lot of deckbuilders use 2d hand-drawn animations, and us working with it all the time it seemed like an opportunity to stand out visually this way. While it is a ton of work going through all the traditional animation phases (layout-animation-cleanup-coloring) it has such a unique vibe that we didn’t want to cut corners in this way.
One example is that all the backgrounds have little characters going about their day, all of them do something fun if you happen to take a look at it.
We love the little details!
