I'm happy to announce that the demo now finally has been updated with the big graphics and game design overhaul, that I've been working intensely on for the past 4-5 months.
After a lot of great feedback and advice, I decided to make a big overhaul to the game, which identifies the following issues it had before:
All-in on Bullet hell: The game has always been a bullet hell game, however it didn't lean fully into it. The enemies has seen big updates to their attack patterns and the game feels much more right in the genre.
Oatmeal bowl problem:
The rune system was cool, however, because you could have so much of everything activated at once, you ended up not really caring that much about which abilities you had. It all played the same.
The enemies were all behaving similarly, making each room feel less distinct and the challenge design was not great. This has been heavily lifted and every area has a clearly intended challenge.
Compositional issues: The game had severe compositional issues, which gave a lot of visual clutter.
Color palette: The color palette was too saturated in general, the overhaul has made it much easier on the eye, while also making it more interesting.
These are the major issues the game had before, that I've been hard on eliminating for the past months. I hope you enjoy!
