Refund Request Guidance for Customers Affected by the ver 1.1.0 Point Accumulati

Hello, this is umaaaaaa, the developer of Fishing The Abyss.

First and foremost, I would like to sincerely apologize once again for the inconvenience caused by the issue in ver 1.1.0, where starting the game from either "New Game" or "Continue" resulted in beginning with an excessive amount of points.

Although the issue was resolved with the release of version 1.1.1 just a few hours later, it still affected both new purchasers during that time and existing players who had already been enjoying the game.

After reaching out to Steam Support and providing a detailed explanation of how this issue impacted players, I negotiated with them to accommodate refund requests beyond the usual refund conditions. As a result, they have agreed to approve refunds for customers who purchased the game before the ver 1.1.1 patch and can explain the issue they encountered.

If you would like to request a refund, please follow the instructions below to submit your refund request and await Steam's decision. I deeply regret asking for your time and effort in this process, but I sincerely appreciate your understanding.

Please note: Customers who purchased the game starting from version 1.1.1 or later are not eligible for a refund.

  1. Steam Support URL
  2. https://help.steampowered.com/ Please access this page.

    Steps:

  3. Click on the "Purchases" button.
  4. A list of your purchase history will appear. Find "Fishing The Abyss" in the list and click on it.
  5. Click the "I would like a refund" button.
  6. Next, click the "I’d like to request a refund" button.
  7. You may see a message indicating that your purchase does not meet the refund conditions. However, there will be a text box at the bottom labeled "Notes." Please select "It’s not listed here" as the reason and provide a detailed explanation of your situation.
  8. Finally, click the "Submit Request" button at the bottom, and wait for Steam Support to contact you via the registered email address.

That’s all for the instructions. Thank you for your effort, and I sincerely hope your refund request will be approved.

If any eligible customers are denied a refund by Steam Support due to insufficient justification, I truly apologize. I regret that I cannot do more in such cases, but I will take this experience to heart and ensure that it informs both my future development and operations to prevent such issues from occurring again. Thank you for your understanding.

A note from the developer:
At the time of writing this, I have received very few direct refund requests. On the contrary, many customers have reached out with messages of forgiveness, for which I am incredibly grateful.

However, I also believe there may have been some customers who chose not to speak up, paying for the game but not enjoying it due to the inconvenience caused by this issue.

As an independent developer releasing my first game, I deeply appreciate the understanding and kindness shown by everyone. At the same time, I want to do everything possible to avoid the perception of abandoning players after a sale. (Even though I understand that some degree of dissatisfaction is unavoidable when selling products widely.)

My ultimate goal is to deliver value that exceeds the price you paid for the game. Thank you for your continued support, and I will strive to make this a reality.

Sincerely,
umaaaaaa
