Thanks so much for playing Shrooms! This update focuses on improving early-game clarity, smoothing out progression, and tightening balance across several Shroom types. It should make first wins more straightforward while keeping higher wave runs just as challenging.
Early Progression & Tutorials
- Added beginner challenges to help unlock modifiers earlier and give new players more tools sooner.
- Updated several tutorial hints for clearer guidance during the first run.
- First playthrough difficulty slightly reduced to help players get their first win and learn the core mechanics more comfortably.
- Tundra biome now unlocks automatically after clearing Wave 30 on Forest (no full run win required).
Shroom Balancing
- Thunder Tuft and Chicken of the Hood unlocked earlier
- Chicken of the Hood has increased range and damage to compete better with other Shrooms
- Heaven’s Wrath’s abilities now do more damage
- Reduced Giant Puffbomb’s attack speed to keep it more in line with other Shrooms’ damage output.
Modifiers
- Several modifiers are now cheaper, making experimentation more accessible earlier in a run.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a handful of small visual and UI issues.
- Corrected hints triggering incorrectly.
