Today I have rewritten the main AI routines. Instead of the previous gradient based algorithm, which often led to inconsistent and seemingly planless behaviour, the AI ships now use a global optimization algorithm which makes them much more consistent and dangerous. Their movement has also become much smoother.
This is what you get for asking for a harder AI. :)
