Here's another big game changer, InDev 18 Unstable 3! This build completely re-imagines the limbo mechanics, adds several new buildings to the game, rewrites the Cullis Gate and adds two new spells! Just like the last unstable build I hope you all enjoy the new changes, I think they're overall for the best. Let me know in the comments what you think!
You can report bugs over at the official website's Support and Bugs Forum, or on the Steam Discussion Board. :)
InDev 18 Unstable 3 Change Log
- You can now "Poke" dead bodies, making them decay faster and release some extra essence.
- New spell; The Grab Spell/Tool. You can now pickup monsters, villagers and resources on the map and move them around. You can even grab resources directly out of buildings, or harvest them yourself right off the terrain.
- New spell; Resurrect. You can now resurrect dead villagers if you see any ghosts wandering around in your village. Be careful though, there's a slight chance they'll come back as a zombie!
- Dissolve spell now also dissolves corpses, turning them into additional essence.
- The old Limbo spells have been removed from the game.
- Moved all the spells to the center top GUI.
- Added an "Available Worker" count to the top bar on the GUI in parenthesis next to the total villager count.
- Cullis Gate mechanics have been completely rewritten. You can now use the new grab spell on a Cullis Gate to grab a random creature or resource from Limbo. You can also drop creatures and resources into the gate, sending them to Limbo.
- If used too much too fast, the Cullis Gate can explode.
- A bunch of new particle effects have been added, and some older ones altered.
- Essence now tends to float to the nearest collector, rather than a random one.
- Ghosts now appear more often.
- Ghosts are no longer attracted to the Cullis Gate.
- Buildings no longer catch fire unless they specifically take fire damage.
- Builders and Crystillers can now build with crylithium.
- Starting a new map on the World Map will now always sent 32 villagers, and 50 resources.
- Fire Bolt Tower now requires crylithium to be built.
- The Limbo tab has been slightly redesigned.
- New Ancient Cullis Gates have been added to the game, they work exactly like the regular Cullis Gates, but can be found naturally on the map.
- New Ancient Radiance Pools have been added, they cannot be built. They attract creatures to them and sap essence from other sources on the map similar to an Essence Collector, then convert it into an energy bolt that will both heal and give experience to nearby creatures.
- Increased refining speeds for all buildings that can refine.
- The position data has been changed slightly, making mobs move and stand around in a little more natural positions instead of always being centered on the tiles.
- Fixed a crash when trying to take resource from the map and send them to Limbo when they're in-use.
- The wandering rates of monsters have been reduced slightly.
InDev 18 Unstable 2 Change Log
- Buildings no longer have storage caps on each specific resources, instead there is a total maximum the building can store, and it can hold any combination of the resources allowed.
- Fixed a crash trying to dismantle, repair or build a building just barely in range.
- Fixed an endless loop villagers would get trapped in trying to assign themselves to their mates home if the home was full.
- Fixed distribution settings not saving, preventing some buildings from distributing resources to others. (Mainly the Crystilleries and Essence Collectors)
- The Stone Masonry has been renamed to Mining Facility.
- The Stone Shack has been renamed to Stone Cuttery.
- The Crystillery has been renamed to Crystal Harvestry.
- The Small Crystillery has been renamed to Crystillery.
- The Small Wood Torch has been renamed to Fire Pit.
- The old Food Storage building has been removed from the game.
- Nearly all buildings have had their build requirements changed. Most notably, the Lumber Mill and Mining Facility (Formally Stone Masonry) no longer require refined resources.
- The Lumber Mill, Stone Cuttery (Formally Stone Shack) and Crystillery (Formally Small Crystillery) can no longer harvest their respected resources, but they can now have dedicated refinery workers assigned to them that will collect their respected resource on the map and return it to their building to be refined.
- The new refinery workers assigned to the buildings above can also assist builders when they have no other work to do, they can build faster than builders can but only with their respected building's resource types.
- To go with the above buildings changes, new villager job titles and outfits have been created; The Carpenter (Lumber Mill), Stone Cutter (Stone Cuttery) and Crystiller (Crystillery).
- The Lumber Shack, Mining Facility (Formally Stone Masonry), and Crystal Harvestry (Formally Crystillery) can no longer refine resources, but have had their harvest speeds doubled.
- Villagers no longer wander to walls.
- Several new storage buildings have been added for all the resources in the game. You can build specific storage buildings for wood, rock, food or crystal based materials, or you can build a storage unit that can hold a little of everything.
- Large Fire Pit added, works the same as the Fire Pit (Formally Small Wood Torch), it just requires more wood and has a larger light radius.
- Fixed a crash when you attempted to dismantle a building with resources inside it that were previously flagged to be used to build the building.
- Construction progress overlay now displays for objects being dismantled, and runs in reverse.
- The repair AI has been refined, now builders will only make repairing buildings a priority if there is no other work to be done, if the building's health is critical or if the building is starting to burn down.
- Reduced the maximum allowed builders who can repair a single building to 4, to prevent all your workers from spending too much time repairing and ignoring other work that needs to be done.
- Repairing buildings now increases the building's health by 25 per tick, rather than 5.
Known Issues that will be resolved before the stable build
- You can send villagers and resources to Limbo in Skirmish mode. This should not be allowed.
- If your world map data is obsolete or otherwise unusable, sometimes you may not be able to start a new Skirmish game. To fix this, just reset the world map or create a new profile.
- The tips system is grossly obsolete after all the changes in InDev 18.
