DEVBLOG #1

We're happy to see that you guys want to be more involved in the development process and that you'd like to know more about what direction we're heading in. Homebrew started out a while ago as a project for us and our friends and back then none of us could imagine that it would be the first game that we'd officially release, let alone that it would be on Early Access and that we'd have this community on such short notice.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions you've given us so far and most of all for ensuring that we can continue development.

Like promised, we're working on making it a habit to share more information on the things that we're working on. This doesn't mean that we won't be active on the forums and chat anymore, so if you have suggestions or encounter issues you can contact us at any moment!

What are we working on?

The main reason why Homebrew is called a pre-alpha is because there's a lot of stuff that we want to add and there are some outdated systems that need to be replaced by cleaner and better ones.

A while ago we succesfully migrated from Unity 4 to Unity 5 and started cleaning up our code. It's still a work in progress but we don't want to rely on things that will slow us down in the long run and cause some of the bigger bugs (like vehicle corruption for example).

Cleaner and more optimized systems is a start, but we're working on the visual aspects as well. We gave Unity 5 a hard time by pushing its limits each day and have a better understanding of the opportunities and possible pitfalls that it holds for us.

You'll be able to read more on this topic in the following posts days/weeks.

Update

Right now we're prepping up the snow removal update. This took us a bit longer than expected due to additional changes but it'll be out in a matter of days. You'll be able to read more about them tomorrow.
