This is probably long overdue, but I thought I would provide an update on the progress being made on Going Your Own Way episode two's production.
Work began in March. Ideas and notes for the episode were drafted into an episode script and production of images was started. Image production and rendering scene-by-scene has been the focus since March. Fast forward to October, and I can report that artwork for 23 out of the 31 scenes is completed so there are currently 8 scenes left needing images produced.
Why is episode two taking so long? The short answer is that while the number of scenes is roughly the same count as episode one, the episode is bigger.
Episode two's story is about 39,000 words. (Episode one was a bit over 24,000 words.)
Episode two's current image count (with 8 scenes left to produce) is over 3,750 images. (Episode one was a bit over 2,800 images.)
And please be mindful that this visual novel, like some others out there, is being made almost entirely by one person. I know it can be frustrating to wait for new content, but it takes time to try and do it right.
Once image production is completed, music will be inserted, testing will commence, and release will be scheduled and announced.
While I haven't been posting updates on Steam, I do post free weekly updates elsewhere online. Following social media links on the store page or doing a quick search for Heavenshire Stories and Going Your Own Way should lead you to my posts.
As you await episode two, enjoy a few of the images from the upcoming episode. I am posting this update on Steam and social media but sharing different images with each post so come check them all out and enjoy a preview of what's to come.
