Spotlight Preview: The Shogun Empire (Part 2)

Empire’s release is fast-approaching and in honor of that upcoming date, we’ve decided to reveal a little bit more about the faction as well as some new unique facets of gameplay. Today, we’ll be covering a new unit (the portrait of which was leaked on Facebook two days ago – so if you don’t follow us there yet, why not?) and a new trait that some units can have.

We’ll start with Auto Advance.

Auto Advance is an extra trait (like Charge, Advanced Deploy, Fast or Slow) that moves the unit that has it forward automatically at the start of your turn, if the space is available to do so, to the cost of no MP. However: many of these units cannot be moved on their own. What that means is that these units will move forward quickly but are pretty much ‘stuck’ in the lane you put them in. There are some Auto Advance units, though, that you can also move for an MP cost as well – so after it moves forward on its own, you can also move it, for a double move per turn.

This trait will be released with Empire, sometime around the middle of August.

The unit feature for today is the Emperor’s Hand. This will be a Gold-quality card that kills everything adjacent to it every time it moves, both allied and as an enemy. It has a 2 range movement and the Fast trait. This is what its card image looks like!

Please be sure to let us know what you think of Auto Advance and also what you think of the Emperor’s Hand as a card. We’re looking forward to sharing more with you as we get closer to release!
