Upcoming Patch Preview

We’ve been talking about the ‘big patch’ that we’re working on. As I mentioned in a forum thread: that won’t be released today. Technical difficulties mean it’s impossible for us to launch it as-is, but with the extra delay, we can also add and improve some features. Among the changes are:

Major Frontend Changes

  • Restructured User Profile
  • Restructured Collection Page
  • Restructured Store page
  • Restructured Pre-battle screen
  • Restructured Main Page

In short: the entire frontend has basically been redesigned for this new patch. Among the visual improvements are also some performance changes, as well as features many players have asked for. Here’s some more detailed rundown on what’s coming! Disclaimer: This is NOT the full changelog – a lot of things are still being developed, but we promised details, so we deliver.

Profile Screen

  • View your level (per faction)
  • View your statistics (wins/losses)
  • Change your avatar
  • Change your name
  • View your tier in the Ladder
  • View detailed match history. What this means is that you can click to view a full overview (the same screen as viewed at the end of battle match summary) of the most recent battles you’ve participated in (yes, plural). This screen is one of the ones still somewhat under construction, so we’ll do a detailed overview once it’s a little closer to done.

Collection Screen

  • Sort by type
  • Search function
  • Show resource cost
  • Custom Deck Graph Summary - you can see the balance of Organic/Mechanical/Command cards in your deck, and how many cards of each cost you have in your deck, to easily see if you're missing cheap cards, or have too many expensive cards.

Gem Store

  • Different pack options
  • Cooler effects upon opening packs
  • Alternate Card backs

PvP

  • Ladder system (detailed already)
  • Matchmaking improvements

Everything Else

  • New cards
  • Daily Consecutive Login Bonus
  • Further chat improvements (You can also see devs by their unique color in chat)
  • Steam Achievements
  • Offline mode improvements
  • 3D game improvements (the movement / attacking icons look way better, for instance)

While some of this is vague, hopefully this list gives you some scope of why this patch is taking us as long as it is. Some of the things mentioned in this will be getting their own custom Spotlight Preview post, and we will also be discussing what the next faction we will release will be here soon. The next news post we provide will be a featurette on the new cards we’ll have when we launch. That post will be released on Friday, just in time for the holiday weekend in America!

Hope you’re all as excited about this as we are and we’ll see you in game!
