Overview
No matter how strong the enemy is, the Ironhearts always persist and comeback stronger than before. This faction specializes in reacting to the enemy, offensively and defensively. They can bring the strongest enemy to their knees with their Stun. Or if things get dire, they can buff the cards on hand to make the next round easier for you. Flexibility is their strength, but their plan takes time to prepare. To make the most out of this faction, you have to think far ahead and know when to give up on a round.
Notable Action: Stun
This is the bread and butter of this Faction. Stun reduces target enemy's Power to 1, crippled them for good. No matter how strong the enemy unit is, a well-timed Stun can bring them down, and ensure your victory. However, you can only stun the enemy unit, so the enemy still can Boost to increase their Power. Use your Stun wisely.
Notable Keyword: Focus
To trigger the effect of cards with Focus keyword, you have to wait for at least one round before playing this. If you think you cannot win this round, stack cards with Focus keyword on your hand for a spectacular comeback on the next round.
Let's see them in action
Despite the enemy has put down very powerful units on the board, the Ironhearts make quick work of them. With 2 stuns, they managed to win a decisive victory. But to do all of this require a bit of planning.
The first card has "Exile: Stun the strongest enemy on the board", so it is rather easy to use. But the second one is trickier. It has "Rush: Stun the last enemy",
In the clip, the opponent misplayed by playing a high power unit on their attacking turn. In Relics, players get their attacking turn back and forth. This is indicated by the sword and shield token at the edge of their respective boards. And whoever has the attacking token will reveal their unit first.
The opponent played their strong card on their attacking turn. So on the player's next turn, which they have the attacking token, their "Rush: Stun the last enemy" is revealed first, stunning the strong enemy that was played earlier. If the attacking turn order was the opposite, things would have gone very differently.
That's it for today, folks. Tomorrow, I will talk about the last Faction: The Seers. See you again.
