20XX Dec 10 2014 Patch Notes

20XX's first post-Early Access bi-weekly update is here! It should be live a few minutes after this post goes up.

TL;DR version: we added powerful new primary weapons for Nina and Ace to equip during play, and began developing out our DATALORE system (for telling our story). Levels 1 and 2 are a little easier than before. We also made a billion other changes, but they're less big.

See the full notes below!

BIG CHANGES:

  • Ace and Nina can now find new primary weapons on their journey. These weapons are found in diamond (blue) chests, which sometimes take the place of gold chests. Wield the Rippling Axe, the Forkalator, and many more weapons to help you slay your foes. Discover them all! (Eventually, you'll have to unlock them, but for now, enjoy!)
  • The first set of DATALORE is in-game! Find Nina's diaries in each level. (Ace's and some other important logs are not in yet!)
  • The first stage of a run is always a bit shorter, and the enemies/boss are easier.
  • Frostor can no longer be found as the first stage of a run.
  • In campaign, Eridu is now always level 6 (up from 4).

SMALL CHANGES:

  • Vending machines at the end of a level now have new art, and display the relevant keys for interacting with them. (The same will be done for co-op resurrection and picking up weapons/passives in a later update.)
  • The Mortar subweapon has been redesigned, and now has new art.
  • Vera (subweapon) has been given a rework -- better art pending.
  • Added the Diamond Crate (better art pending), containing new powerful primary weapons.
  • Made several effects a little flashier.
  • Eridu's Mechannon blasts no longer bounce. (They now explode on contact.)
  • Made a few tweaks to the way text is displayed, especially at lower resolutions.
  • Enlil, final boss placeholder supreme, no longer annihilates himself shortly after the battle begins.

Lots and lots of little fixes and tweaks, as always. Let us know if you see changes that aren't listed here!

Thanks for reading and playing! We've gotten a ton of great feedback in the past few weeks that should find its way into our upcoming updates. Keep it coming!

Cheers
Chris
