Atomic Raid — Monthly Devlog | July 2025
“Parking lots, urban chaos, and a vertical leap into madness”
Greetings, survivors!
It’s been a wild month here in the ruins of humanity. While you were possibly enjoying fresh air and sunshine (luxuries, we hear), we were knee-deep in rubble, metal scraps, and design files. Here’s what we’ve been cooking in our radioactive kitchen:
🅿️ The Parking Lot —
Now with 200% More Abandoned Vehicles
We finally wrapped up work on one of the more iconic battlegrounds in Atomic Raid — the urban parking zone.
But don’t be fooled. This is not your average shopping mall lot. This one tells a story — of chaos, escape attempts, and someone who thought parking diagonally was a good idea during an alien invasion.
🚗 Added multiple types of burnt-out, flipped, and mutated vehicles
🛻 We balanced the speed of the character and the new enemy (Oh yes, he's already crawling around the parking lot, eagerly awaiting the encounter)
🧯 Adjusted the obstacle generator so that cars don't suddenly end up in the air and try to escape on their own
Let’s just say… you won’t look at parking the same way again.
🧱 City Ruins: Less Messy Now (Well, Mostly)
The surrounding urban ruins got a massive polish pass.
We cleaned up navigation, added detail to buildings, and now that one street you kept getting stuck on? It’s still deadly, but at least it’s on purpose.
Expect:
🚧 Better pathfinding and clearer tactical lines
🏚️ More environmental storytelling (If anyone manages to notice at such a speed)
🏙️ Next Stop: Skyscraper Madness
We’re now shifting gears and going vertical. Literally.
Production has started on one of the biggest locations yet: a collapsed skyscraper with vertical combat elements and some surprises we won’t spoil (okay, maybe one surprise — SpongeBob. What does he have to do with it?! No more words, just a little patient...)
Expect some risky traversal, layered ambushes, and more height-based panic than ever before.
☢️ Dev Thoughts
This month reminded us that making ruined cities feel alive takes a surprising amount of work.
But seeing a chaotic parking lot become a tense, tactical warzone? Worth it.
And we’re just getting started.
Thank you for following our apocalyptic journey — your support means the world (what’s left of it, anyway). And by the way great thx for your support. 1000 wishlists means a lot.
Stay tuned for more updates, sneak peeks, and possibly… alien flamethrowers. 👀
Until then —
Keep your eyes open, your shotgun loaded, and don’t trust any parked van.
