Hi everybody! I'll give you the rundown of the progress this month on the game, it's been going really well! The only downside this month is I did catch the flu, and it makes it harder sometimes to do more creative/brainbusting work, but I think this month has still gone really well and happy with all the content we've gotten for the shop!
We'll be wrapping up alpha 4 soon, and then moving to alpha 5 - Which is focused on the town. We'll be getting the next level of the town happening, new higher level customers, and a new mechanic will be revealed when the town grows into this level (Fish Grading).
Now that we have a solid little community that grew from Steam Next Fest, it's been really helpful finding the issues and finding the areas that people are most excited about the game. It's really helping the direction, and I highly encourage to join the discord or even leave comments here or on the steam forum (I try to check it once and a while) if you have ideas/suggestions!
Tech Tree
One of my favorite things I got finished this month, the tech tree. It feels much nicer to finally have a more visual and cleaner way to do upgrades. I hope to do this for the shopping section in the future as well.
Shop Expansions 5 & 6
The shop can now be expanded further and is now expanding to the side! We'll see how far we go with your shop growing
The Government
Rent mechanic finally has arrived, and will need to be balanced more and more over time so that you can feel some pressure to make ends meet. When you see them in the air, you know rent payment is almost due
Front Store Expansion
You can now build in front of your shop with certain objects, we'll keep adding more things to decorate with over time
ATM Improvements
The oldest asset in the game when it was a prototype, finally got some love
Composter
Compost mediocre fish or any fish you want to get turned into bait! It takes time though, so you come back later to gather it
Store Shelves Content
Long overdue, you can now have a nice variety of shelves to use for your shop to use
Beds & Sleeping Mechanic
You can now use beds to sleep and make time go by quickly!
Pet Mechanic Improvements
Lots of little improvements to make dog more interesting now, now fully finished but you can now feed her, she has loyalty which builds up, and she poops!
