StarCrawlers Beta 6 - Felonious Fox - Patch Notes

StarCrawlers Beta 6 - Felonious Fox

IIn addition to Unity 5, we’ve added a ton of new content and systems. A huge THANK YOU to everyone supporting us with feedback and bug reports - we've got a big build for you in return. Dig in!

Unity 5

Upgrading StarCrawlers to use Unity 5 allows a big increase in the visual quality we are able to achieve with full 64bit (and still 32bit) compatibility. The most immediate improvements will be noticeable in the Corporate environments (the focus for this update) and will expand to the other environments as we continue to update. Please note that being able to adjust specific attributes of graphics settings is not implemented yet - StarCrawlers at launch will support a variety of system specs and the ability to adjust and reduce the more memory intensive visuals will be provided.

Focus On: The Mobs & Corp Environments & Much More!

Mob health, damage, and player weapon damage has been rescaled. The new system allows for more gradual increments between levels. In general, mobs will have less health but hit harder. Additionally, the following mobs have acquired new abilities and will change their abilities and tactics as your team levels :

  • CorpSec Drone Mk. I
  • CorpSec Hoplite
  • CorpSec Imperator
  • CorpSec Observer
  • CorpSec Guard

Armor and Shields

Decay is dead! After a lot of experimentation and discussion with the community, we’re reverting the Shields and Armor system to the previous mechanic of blocking flat amounts of damage. With that in effect, there is no more need for the decay mechanic. Woot!

Items

  • Level requirements have been removed for all items.
  • Weapons now have additional modifiers unique to different weapon types:
  • Pistol : Combat Initiative increased.
  • SMG : Aggression grants bonus damage on first round of combat.
  • Rifle : Shield Breaker destroys bonus Shields when dealing damage.
  • Shotgun : Bonus critical hit damage.
  • Heavy : Armor Pierce ignores a % of target Armor damage reduction.
  • Melee : Shield Pierce ignores a % of target Shield damage reduction.
  • Armors now have additional modifiers unique to different armor types:
  • Light: All damage dealt increased.
  • Tactical: Maneuver immediately reduces current Time Units on Dodge success.
  • Heavy: Resistance to critical hits increased.
  • Shields now have additional modifiers unique to different shield types:
  • Light: Charges regenerate when enough Time Units have passed for the owner.
  • Tactical: Maneuver immediately reduces current Time Units on Dodge success.
  • Heavy: Resistance to critical hits increased.
  • Weapons, Armor and Shields using the old damage system will automatically rescale to match similar stats for items using the new damage system. They will also gain type specific bonuses.
  • Credsticks looted by Smuggler’s Mug ability now automatically convert into credits when looted.

New Features

  • STIX has received additional visual polish. We hope you like it :D
  • The Black Market is open for business. Draal has ‘acquired’ a shipment of Mystery Crates and will sell them to Crawlers (no questions asked). Additional Black Market services will be added in future updates.
  • Syndromes have arrived. Syndromes are special status effects that persist either permanently for until the end of the next mission. Events, enemies, items and various other things can apply syndromes to your crew.
  • Junk items are now Loot items and serve as the primary way to gain credits at low levels.
  • Loot that is dropped in combat but not collected will create a Loot Cache on the ground nearby.
  • Some environments have high-value Loot items that are owned by the map’s faction. Stealing them will net you a valuable Loot item and negatively affect your rep with the target faction.
  • Vendors now have an Auto Sell Loot button. Any Loot items that can be sold, will be. Note this will only sell items that have no use other than to sell for credits.
  • Click-To-Move option added to Controls menu. Enabling will allow either single clicks or holding down the RMB to move forward when exploring. It’s back!

Changes

  • Force Psyker’s Spirit Armor ability has been redesigned. It now provides a boost to Threat and creates a Barrier on your weakest ally for a % of your Armor block value.
  • Many menus in STIX and on missions have received visual polish and function improvements.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue with Escort jobs not acknowledging you had reached the exit with an NPC.
  • Escort NPCs now correctly scale their health to the level of the job.
  • Fixed an issue where starting a new game after loading could confuse new recruits.
  • Fixed an issue with Quit / Quit to Title when on a Story Mission erroneously failing the mission.
  • Fixed an issue causing Smuggler’s Holotrap to never activate after certain events.
  • Fixed an issue where Smuggler’s Shoot First could prevent Fan the Hammers activating.
  • Fixed an issue where Soldier’s Juggernaut could cause indiscriminate attacks on the team...
