Update (23 March 2016): The new summoning system is scheduled to go live on 29 March 2016, right after the start of the new event!
We are getting rid of summon timers!
We’ve listened to our players, and have come up with a new system for summoning Heroes that are are ready to announce.
We’re replacing the timers to summon Heroes with a gold cost. Additionally, we’re completely removing the need for summoning crystals.
In a future update, the Summon Heroes window will be replaced with something that looks like this:
(Costs are a work in progress and subject to change.)
How does this compare to the current way of summoning Heroes?
The Common Hero Summon is going to give the same Hero drops as doing a summon with a Rough Rainbow Crystal. Likewise, the Uncommon Summon is identical to the 1 hour Normal Crystals, and the Rare Summon is going to be identical to the existing 8 hour Shiny Crystal summon.
The Super Rare Hero Summon is going to be very similar to the 200 Ruby instant speed up with a Shiny Crystal and the 325 Ruby Super Rare Summon currently in the Store. This summon is also going to be on a separate Summoning Card, with a guaranteed Ultra Rare Hero after a certain number of summons.
The Ultra Rare Hero Summon is going to be identical to the current option in the Store.
We are not planning on changing the drop rates of Event Heroes from the UR, SR, or R summons. Yes, this does mean you can burn through the gold you’ve earned from running dungeons to get a chance at the Event Hero, although using the higher level summons will result in a greater chance of summoning one.
What about my existing summon slot upgrades?
We don’t want you to lose anything, so when the upgrade occurs, any Rubies that you spent buying additional summoning slots will be refunded to you. Likewise, any existing Summoning Crystals in your inventory will be converted to Gold, up to the current gold cap.
We feel that this new system will be a better experience for users in pretty much every way. Please let us know in the comments below what you think.
