V1.07c-3 patch released!

Dear all,

We're proud to announce that V1.07c-3 patch has been released. There's however, a slight problem with the resolution and you may be required to set your resolution once more due to a more stringent check against the resolution with refresh frequency. This is a slight inconvenience and will not affect new installations.

Build ID: 711209

New Implementations

- A direct objective text implemented to show the next immediate objective. However, this is not in use just yet. We'll revamp the tutorial missions and other missions that require such a device to keep you informed.

- 3 buttons added for the following purposes:
1) Objectives (click to show)
2) Messages (logs, system messages)
3) Options menu button

These buttons will actually animate to inform you that there has been a change or significant updates made to either the objectives or messages that require your attention.

We hope that with these 3 buttons, things will be more accessible than having to go to the shortcuts to map the keys.

- Added a small feature whereby if you press SHIFT and right-click on the fleet panel, all non-essential messages are removed.
- Fleet ID text ie "Fleet 1 (9/25)" now blink RED whenever the fleet is under attack. Removing the need to keep monitoring the fleet panel. This feature however, may not always return the Fleet ID back to white all the time. We'll look into it and get it fixed by the next patch.
- Implemented the Ship Invulnerability Package where ships can be assigned to be indestructible, invulnerable or have limited vulnerability with a minimum HP guard. These are code-governed and therefore will be very reliable. Cheat codes will not break the package's functionalities too.

Modifications

- Enhanced the particle culling system relative to its size and distance from the camera. This means if a particle appears to be so small that it's barely a pixel on screen, it will NOT be rendered. This applies only to non-essential particles. All projectiles will always be rendered regardless of their size.

You can set the sensitivity of distance by tweaking the Particle Density option. A Low setting means that smaller particles tend to disappear nearer towards you while a High setting means otherwise.

We believe that this will improve your overall Foresight experience since we can now handle lesser particles that has little or no impact on your visual experience.

- All camera locks in Mission 1 removed. Now you'll always be free to move the camera around.
- Improved the speed of flow for the main menu - you don't have to wait for a few seconds before things occur. Now they're shortened to as concise as possible.

Bug fixes

- Fixed a perculiar bug that occurs only on 1280x1024 resolution where in the mission briefing, the text will overflow out of the briefing panel.
- Fixed a bug where text within a list box will sometimes get messed up with lines overlapping each other. (this has occured to fleet panels as well)
- Fixed a bug where auto-fleet creation doesn't take leadership stats into consideration. Only rank was considered and it's definitely insufficient especially when you have more than 1 captain onboard. Now rank is considered first, then leadership stats sort is applied and the personnel with the highest rank and leadership will always be chosen.
- Fixed a bug where in some cases, the in-game speech dialogue will actually overflow out of its area.
- Fixed a bug where strange symptoms occurred to particle emitters who were trying to emit but couldn't. This occured to Mission 5 UNC Gunships where their missiles totally had no trail. As well as Mission 23 where the NSAU Mobile Power Unit doesn't emit the distorted shockwave consistently.
- Fixed a bug where upon closing the Strategic Map (showing all the sectors) will always minimize all the fleet panels automatically. Now if you had
- Fixed a bug where fleet panel messages don't blink as they should ... and that their effect objects are actually leaked due to constant insertion without removal.
- Fixed a bug in Finale mission where the mission critical craft actually gets its invulnerability lifted prematurely ... allowing the player to destroy it too soon causing the mission to go into a limbo.

Conclusion

More bug fixes to come. Tutorial will be revamped next along with a new trailer for Foresight!

P.S. Yes, there ARE cheat codes in Foresight.

Regards,
Jeremy
