Dear all,
The 2nd staging build for V1.07d-3 has been released. To access the staging build:
1) Right-click on Foresight
2) Properties
3) Betas
4) Select "staging" in the 1st dropdown box.
5) Password is abcdef123456
Implementations
- Cutscene subtitles now have the character names beside the speech item. Ie,
Pugalenthi: Tunnels in space...
Thomas Lock: Tunnels in space Admiral?
- All defense structures such as UNC Missile Turret will now have a circle attached to the preview placement structure mesh. This will indicate whether or not the structure can be placed (green for ok, red for not ok). On top of that the radius of the circle directly indicates the structure's minimum attack range. This will be useful for knowing which areas are being covered.
Modifications
- UNC Harvester now decelerates faster.
- All planets that rotate will now rotate faster so that it's noticeable. Either way, planets aren't following the rotation speeds in reality since Foresight is still but a game, not a space simulator.
- Adjusted cutscene voices (no spoilers) to be broken into 2 or more parts if necessary so that if the cutscene lags, the voice over will not go out of sync against the subtitles.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed a UINC Harvester return bug where the harvester will face upwards or downwards but is stuck in a limbo not knowing what to do. This has been fixed.
- The version text ie, Foresight V1.07d-3 (Staging 2) continues to persist throughout the whole game under certain circumstances. This is now fixed.
- Fixed various cutscene bugs due to changes in ship speeds.
- Fixed a MAJOR bug in speech view where under certain circumstances, the speech script cannot append correctly, causing certain scripts to be missed entirely, sometimes causing the mission to go into a limbo. This is now fixed and will always be guaranteed to work. This happens when the speech view is presenting the LAST line of the story telling session and as the item is being played, a new set of speeches and script triggers are queued and ignored completely.
- Fixed a bug where you view cutscenes from Options menu and you Alt+tab in and out once, the music jukebox now behaves erratically - playing in-game music at the wrong time and doesn't seem to fade away.
Conclusion
We're left with the revamp of mission 3 and revision of the rest of the missions for the element of challenge. I do notice that mission 4 enemies are a little too docile even for beginners, to be of any challenge. That will be changed very soon.
We can't wait to finish up V1.07d-3 and go straight into V1.08 - multiplayer lobby!
Regards,
Jeremy
