Hello everyone,
Our development team first started working on Dovetail Games Fishing in early 2014 with the aim of creating a fun fishing simulator using cutting edge technology. The game entered Early Access on November the 4th 2014 and since then we have been tirelessly working with the community to add and refine mechanics and content.
We are infinitely grateful to the community for supporting us every step of the way and helping create the best fishing game in the world. We have done much together already, but as the release date approaches we want to make the release, testing and refining of features and content even faster.
In order to achieve this, we will introduce a new accelerated beta process that will temporarily make the game unavailable to purchase on Steam but allow us to add more content, faster. Players who already own the game will be able to continue enjoying phase 6.1 or test the latest content. The latest content will not be polished and debugged to the same standard as our previous Phases, which will allow us to concentrate on production and only worry about fine debugging at the very end of the process (the game will then be thoroughly polished and debugged right before launch).
More details will be made available when beta starts on Tuesday, September the 8th.
Dovetail Games
In summary:
- On Tuesday, September the 8th Dovetail Games Fishing will exit Early Access and move into a “closed pre-order phase” until the full launch of the game in late October.
- Players who already own the game will have access to both existing and new content during this phase.
- New players will still be able to pre-order the game but not to play it until release
- Patches will be more frequent, with players always having access to the latest content, but there will be more bugs. This is done to speed up the development/feedback loop.
- Anyone who purchased the game during Early Access or pre-ordered it after Tuesday, September the 8th will get the full game on release, same as everyone who purchases the game post-release.
- The first batch of new content will be available when the beta starts.
