Hey Manager!
This month we have dedicated our efforts to deliver a Closed Beta to players for for the first time. It was indeed our first rodeo and we have discovered new things to learn and improve on, with that being said we decided not to release a usual Dev Diary this month. Instead we want to take a look at the Closed Beta, and share some exciting news to come!
The Closed Beta for Esport Manager: Road To Major was an opportunity for us to test the core mechanics of the game. The focus was on guiding a team through a full tournament cycle, giving players a taste of what it's like to manage an esports squad. You could either take control of one of 16 existing teams or create your own from an established roster core.
A key component of the beta was the live match simulation. All matches were played on the map Inferno, where managers could influence the game directly by calling a timeout. You were given three timeouts per map, plus one for every overtime cycle, allowing you to choose from pre-defined tactics to counter your opponent's strategy. Beyond the tactical gameplay, the beta also featured a simple inbox system, where you'd receive a welcoming email and notifications about tournament teams and other vital information.
We’re thrilled with the feedback we’ve received and are excited to announce that we will be hosting another Beta in a month. All of the players who tested the Closed Beta agreed on one thing, they see the vision of the game and they like it, that is exactly what we wanted to hear! This new Beta will introduce additional bugfixes, features and content, expanding on the core gameplay you've already experienced. Stay tuned for more details on how to participate and what new features you can expect to see!
