Hey everyone!
Welcome back to the dev diary for Esport Manager: Road to Major! Today, we want to touch on two core mechanics that will shape your daily grind and challenge your decision-making skills: the constant flow of information via your Inbox and the unpredictable chaos of Incidents. Mastering these is key on your road to glory!
Never Miss a Beat: Your Inbox
Think of your Inbox as the nerve center of your entire operation. Being a successful manager means staying informed, and this is where everything crucial lands – from high-level strategy down to the nitty-gritty details. Forget digging through different menus; your Inbox is the central hub for vital communications from everyone who matters:
Your Inner Circle: Expect direct messages from your CEO outlining season goals or delivering performance reviews (good or bad!). Your trusty Assistant will ping you about expiring contracts, completed HQ upgrades, or potential scheduling clashes for tournaments. Your Coach will send detailed training reports, flag player fatigue issues, or let you know when a tactic is perfectly honed.
The Wider World: Analysts will drop detailed scouting reports on upcoming opponents right into your lap. Media outlets might offer interview opportunities, share juicy transfer gossip, or give you the lowdown on shifting world rankings and map pool changes. Even tournament organizers will slide in with those all-important invitations.
Staying on top of your Inbox, filtering the noise, and acting on crucial intel promptly will be vital for success. Miss a critical report or a contract deadline? That could be the difference between lifting a trophy and looking for a new job!
Expect the Unexpected: Incidents
But let's be real, managing an esports team isn't just about planning and execution. Sometimes, things go sideways. That's where Incidents come into play, throwing unexpected curveballs your way just when you think you have everything under control.

These aren't just background events, they demand your immediate attention. An Incident might pop up randomly, or be triggered by a previous decision or event in your game. When one hits, the game pauses, you must deal with it before moving forward.
You'll be presented with a scenario and typically 2-3 choices on how to respond. Do you back your star player after a public outburst, potentially damaging team reputation but boosting their loyalty? Do you accept a risky, last-minute sponsorship deal that could save your finances but comes with strings attached?
