Right off the bat, you'll need to decide on your managerial background. We call these "Origins", and there are five distinct options to choose from when you start a new game. Think of an Origin as your unique starting advantage – a permanent boost that reflects your chosen specialty.
Maybe you're a former pro player known for inspiring locker room speeches, to give your team a natural morale boost. Or perhaps you're a financial mastermind, able to squeeze extra value out of every sponsorship deal. While the options provide specific bonuses, each one offers a meaningful nudge to your playthrough, encouraging different management styles right from the start. Choose wisely!
The Crossroads – Pick Your Path
Once you've selected your Origin, you face your first major strategic decision: how will you enter the competitive scene? There are two distinct routes:
Take the Helm of an Existing Team: jump straight into the action by taking control of an established organization. You'll likely inherit a decent roster, some existing infrastructure, and a more stable financial situation. Sounds good, right? The catch is the weight of expectation. The board, the fans, maybe even the star players – they have history and high demands. You'll need to deliver results quickly, or you might find yourself facing the CEO and potentially looking for a new job sooner than you think! It's a path filled with immediate pressure but also immediate potential.
Build From the Ground Up
Fancy yourself a true visionary? Then you can choose the challenging but rewarding path of creating your own esports organization from scratch. You'll start with limited funds, no players, and a huge mountain to climb. The early days will be tough, demanding smart recruitment and careful budget management. However, the payoff is complete control. Every victory, every trophy is purely down to your vision and hard work. And let's be honest, who doesn't want to design their own team identity? You'll get to customize your own jerseys with cool colors and emblems, creating a brand that's uniquely yours!
