Hey Operators
Today we want to reach out to you about something that means a lot to us.
It is with a heavy heart that we’ve decided not to participate in the upcoming Next Fest. The planned demo and the associated workload have simply become too much for us to manage right now. As a two-person team, it’s up to us to constantly evaluate and prioritize where we put our focus and energy. Taking part in the event—and meeting all the content, scope, and presentation requirements—would have forced us to reduce the demo to its bare essentials, scrapping most of the ideas we had originally planned. Honestly, that just didn’t sit right with us or match our vision.
Echoes Below is a pretty ambitious project—and we intend to keep it that way. Trying to compress everything into a thirty-minute demo just wasn’t possible without leaving out essential parts of the experience, and that’s something we couldn’t accept.
On top of all this, we’re also working flat out on the main game, which is where our true focus lies. For the sake of our own health as well, this was an absolutely important and necessary decision that we had to make together, right away. Our idea is to put the time we’ve gained into building out crucial features and mechanics, so we can offer you the best possible gameplay experience without compromising further.
But we’re not only using this time for that—we’re already actively working on something that, let’s just say, will have a huge impact on the game. We’ll share all the details in our next announcement, along with more insights on our current progress.
We hope - and we’re confident - it will be a worthy compensation for you!
Thank you for your understanding and your time. It was important for us to be as transparent and honest with you as possible.
There’s one more thing we’d like to share:
For some time now, we’ve been collaborating with the members of Caliber Collective (CC). Through their playtest program Click here! they’ll be putting Echoes Below through its paces, helping us get vital insights on performance, bugs, and more, so we can keep improving. We’re extremely grateful for this opportunity and look forward to everything that lies ahead!
So a big, official thank you from us for all the support and the transparent, enriching collaboration!
