AFC Cup
The format for the AFC Cup has been updated to match the 2027 AFC Cup.
- In the second round, 36 teams will be divided into nine groups. The group winners will directly qualify for the finals.
- Teams that finish in third and fourth place in their group will enter the third round along with some top-ranked teams from the first round that did not advance.
Swiss Model styled World Cup UEFA qualifiers
This experimental tournament tests the Swiss model for the World Cup qualification stage. It includes 52 UEFA nations, excluding Spain, Portugal, and Russia.
The teams are placed into four seeding pots based on their rankings. They will compete in one large league table, and each team plays two matches against opponents from each pot, so a total of eight matches per team.
