World Cup Hosts
There are more transcontinental hosts in the World Cup. One OFC and two AFC teams can co-host a World Cup. It’s also possible for one AFC and CAF team to co-host, which is more likely to occur given the recent news that Egypt has expressed interest in hosting some matches in 2034 alongside Saudi Arabia.
In the 48-team format, the single UEFA host and three OFC hosts have been removed. The former is less and less likely to occur in real life. It’s mathematically impossible to have three OFC hosts in the tournament as it requires three OFC teams to have ratings above 1600+.
UEFA Nations League A Knockout
The knockout stage of League A has been revised into two phases:
The quarter finals will be contested over two legs.
The semi-finals and final will be single-leg matches taking place at a neutral venue.
