🎣 Demo Wrap-Up & What’s Next for Voodoo Fishin’
A huge thank you to everyone who played the demo over the past few weeks! We were absolutely blown away by the number of players during Steam’s Fishing Fest. Seeing so many of you exploring the world, crafting crazy puppets, and reeling in big catches was a dream come true for our tiny team of three.
Thanks to your feedback, bug reports, and thoughtful comments, we’ve gathered a ton of insight that’s already helping us shape the next phase of the game. Our goal has always been to make Voodoo Fishin’ one of the best (and weirdest) fishing games you’ve ever played—and you’ve helped us get that much closer.
🐟 Fresh Updates:
HUGE refactor of fish movement! Fish now stay within the water boundaries (yes, even in those tiny little fishing holes), and movement is now fully physics-based for better realism and better fights.
Daily Specials at the Fish Monger - Prices are updated daily at UTC+9h. Happy hunting!
New Fish Caught UI - replacing one of the final pieces of our early placeholder interface with something much more tactile and hand-crafted.
While fighting fish, players will now rotate when the fish move too far to the left or the right.
Fixed a bug where the rod would snap to the right on your first cast.
📅 The Demo is Sunsetting July 8th
We’ll be wrapping up this version of the demo next week so we can shift focus to the next wave of features. We’ve got a lot of cool stuff coming—and we want your help testing it!
🚨 Join the Steam Playtests via Discord!
We’re moving to the Steam Playtest platform to test new features, balance changes, and spooky surprises before launch. Playtest access will be managed through our Discord—so if you want in, come hang out!
