Hello Detectives!
In the tenth installment of our developer diary, we are sharing a range of new improvements designed to make interactions throughout the world of The Enigma Cases feel more natural, intuitive, and meaningful to the investigation.
From the pod systems in the laboratory and physical door interactions to a new ping mechanic that improves team communication and a brand-new valve puzzle, we have continued developing several key systems. You can explore all the details below alongside our latest videos.
Pod Systems
We have made extensive improvements to the pods in the laboratory area and the terminals connected to them.

Players can interact with the terminal located between the pods to access dialogue and records related to the investigation. With dynamic expressions and a dialogue system displayed on the terminal screen, these devices are no longer simple environmental props. They now serve as important sources of information that support both the story and the investigation.
Information obtained through the terminal can be added to the investigation records as a new clue.
Manual Door Opening Mechanic
We have developed a new opening system that makes interacting with doors feel more physical and immersive.

Doors no longer open automatically with a single button press. Instead, they can be manually controlled based on the player’s movement. You can open a door slightly, push it open slowly, or move it according to your position.
This system adds an extra layer of tension, especially when entering dark rooms or investigating enclosed areas.
Interactive Devices
The interaction systems for electronic devices and control panels throughout the game world have been expanded.

Terminals, buttons, control levers, and adjustable panels now respond visually to the player’s actions. Some devices will directly lead you to new clues, while others will be used to activate environmental systems or complete puzzles.
Every interaction with a device now provides clearer visual and audio feedback.
More Natural Transitions Between Dark and Bright Areas
We have revised the post-processing settings to reduce sudden visual changes when moving from a dark environment into a brightly lit area.

A smoother transition system now simulates the way the player’s eyes adjust to different light levels. This prevents bright areas from becoming overly exposed while also ensuring that environmental details do not disappear completely in darker locations.
The new lighting transitions preserve the atmosphere while making important environmental details easier to notice.
Starting Input Hints
To help new detectives learn the basic controls more quickly, we have redesigned the input hints shown at the beginning of the game.
Controls for movement, inventory management, item usage, vehicle operation, and environmental interaction are now displayed in separate categories. By visually presenting the relevant keys on a keyboard, players can find the control they need more easily.
This system will help players become familiar with the controls faster, especially during the opening moments of the investigation.
Ping Mechanic
A new ping mechanic has been added, allowing you to mark important interaction points and locations that need to be investigated.

When a player marks a point in the environment, the name and distance of the relevant location are displayed on the screen. Since multiple points can be marked at the same time, it becomes easier to keep track of devices, clues, and investigation areas across different rooms.
This system will make communication and guidance between team members faster and clearer.
In-World Hint System
We have developed a new in-world hint system to ensure that players do not miss important developments during an investigation.
Whenever you interact with a device, discover new information, or find a record that is important to the case, the system displays it directly on the game screen. This allows players to see which information has been added to the investigation without having to switch between different menus.
The hints have been designed to provide the necessary guidance without disrupting the atmosphere of the game.
Valve Puzzle
A new valve puzzle requiring careful observation and precise timing has been added to the investigation areas.

Players will need to examine connected pipes, pressure gauges, and valves to understand how the system works. Correctly adjusting the valves, balancing the pressure between the tanks, and bringing the system into the proper state form the core of the puzzle.
Since an incorrect action can cause different outcomes within the system, simply turning the valves will not be enough. You will also need to carefully monitor the surrounding indicators.
With the updates presented in this developer diary, our goal is to make every device, every room, and every interaction in the world of The Enigma Cases a meaningful part of the investigation.
We will continue working on new puzzles, improved environmental interactions, and additional systems that will make the investigation experience even deeper.
If you have not already done so, do not forget to add The Enigma Cases to your wishlist!
