Sword Brothers: A Free Prequel Story to NORSE: Oath of Blood
In the windswept fjords of NORSE: Oath of Blood, the saga of Sudrvik is forged in blood, loyalty, and betrayal. This week, we’re thrilled to unveil Sword Brothers, a gripping short story by prizewinning and Sunday Times bestselling author Giles Kristian, who also serves as the writer for the game. Also available is an audio book version on Spotify; Narrated by Philip Stevens, the Narrative Director of Norse: Oath of Blood. Both are available now for free, this tale sets the stage for the epic struggles you’ll face.
Dive into the world of 8th-century Norway, where Jarl Gripr and Steinnar, two sworn sword brothers bound by camaraderie and the fury of battle, lead a daring raid across the fjord. Their unbreakable bond, forged in the clash of steel and the thrill of the fight, shines through in this prequel, brimming with bone-crunching battles and Kristian’s lyrical prose that has made his Raven and The Rise of Sigurd series favorites among Viking fans worldwide. Sword Brothers explores the roots of the tragedy that unfolds in the game, where Steinnar Far-Spear's ruthless ambition leads to Jarl Gripr’s murder, casting young Gunnar into exile on a quest for vengeance.
