Field Journal: Entry 2178-A Date: 12th cycle, Moon of Tarvos January 27, 2145 on Earth Location: Dry Lakes of Tarvos
I can't believe what I just witnessed—this is my first true discovery and it exceeds all my expectations. While exploring the dry lakes of Tarvos, my team encountered a creature that I can only describe as a "Morphulon." We used everything against it: plasma, projectiles, but it was remarkably resistant to everything.
Then it happened. One of my companions was captured. The creature wrapped its spiked tendrils around him, and within seconds he was gone. It devoured him, absorbed his body, and then the creature fully regenerated. It was as if it fed to heal itself—a terrifying display of its power, a different level of mutation.
I can't let this discovery be forgotten. I named this creature "Morphulon." This is my discovery and it will change everything. A creature that feeds to heal itself... it's an incredible find.

Exhibit: MUT-07X
"Morphulon"
Description: Organically evolved predator with eight hyper-elastic appendages covered in tissue-like spines. (Some more mutated species may have 12 or even 14 appendages). The central body pulses with visible nodes of the circulatory system, suggesting high metabolic activity.
Mutation Index: 2.7 (rapid limb regeneration after feeding).
Behavior:Primarily ambush; tentacles serve both for grasping and digesting, secreting paralyzing enzymes before feeding begins. Victims are externally dissolved and absorbed through epidermal osmosis.
Habitat: Found over the dry lakes on the Moon of Tarvos. Uses semi-translucent skin to blend into the surroundings.
I wasn't able to take a picture; people were injured and we focused on getting back to base. However, after we were safe, I managed to sketch the Morphulon. I hope I captured its appearance correctly. I processed the sketches in our visualization software, and everything is now archived at the base.
I wonder how much more we can discover...
Until the next entry.
