Fact Check

While most of you are in-game and hopefully enjoying it, as much as we do working on it, quite a few people pulled out the pitchforks and torches, going rampage in the review section.

We read through the reviews to collect feedback and found many ill informed opinions along that way. So let's discuss a few myths.

A) I got ripped off!

The game was sold at $19.99 and $29.99 for the Deluxe Edition in the early stages of Early Access, during that time it has been sold as low as 80% off during the anniversary sale. Today the game is at $29.99 and $39.99 respectively. So at any time during Early Access the game has been cheaper than it is now and everyone who supported us early on saved some bucks!

B) You are selling DLC in Early Access!

The first sentence of the Season pass description is: "There will be no DLC released during Early Access". So you actually don't get anything in return for your money right now, except our promise to deliver these DLC to you after the game has been released. In fact, there is no DLC, only the option for people to support the development if they desire. Nobody is forced or has to buy it. This is a completely personal decision and everyone has the right to decide for themselves, if they want to save money by supporting us ahead.

C) I should be rewarded for supporting you!

Exactly what we think! That's why Deluxe Edition owners get a free DLC on top of what they purchased. So free stuff for people who supported us. Even more so, we just announced that there will be Allied factions, as well as Germans and Russians to play next year. For free, for everyone, in multiplayer. Because again, we appreciate your support and want to give back!

D) You are selling in-game items!

You can get these items for free. In fact, you constantly get free items and as Deluxe Edition owner you even got exclusive items. All for free, just because we love you. You can sell these items and make money off them and buy new items or other games with it, completely up to you. For some people who don't have the time to unlock stuff, we added the option to purchase them right away. Which is cool, because they financially support the game and help us making it better, so that everyone else can enjoy even more free stuff. If you purchased the game, simply launch it up and enjoy your extra content.

E) I didn't know there is going to be a Season Pass!

We didn't know that either. As we said many, many times in the past, DLC depends on the success of the game and when we decided that more is to come for Call to Arms, we were letting you know ahead in Developers Updates. Since we understand, that some would have loved to get a good deal too, we added a discount of 20% to the Season Pass. So if you didn't have the opportunity to buy the cheaper Ultimate Edition before, you can save money for the next two weeks as well. We think that's fair.

Furthermore, we are also obliged to provide a Season Pass to crowdfunding backers who paid for any possible DLC to come out. In this regard, we are simply fulfilling our promises we made long before Early Access.

F) Free2play is unfair!

The free2play version is not equal to the full version. The full version is still available to purchase and offers you more than the free version. See the info sheet below. Aside from that, everyone benefits from busy multiplayer lobbies and short waiting times for matches. If you want to know what the exact differences between the full version and free2play version are, please read this announcement.

G) You did not deliver what you promised!

No we did not. We delivered way more than we promised. Everything that has been promoted on the store page during Early Access is available to everyone who bought the game right now, even though the game is not even officially released yet. It took us longer to develop the game, because we wanted this game to be bigger and better with the help of the community. We are on the best way to achieve this and everyone will be able to enjoy more cool stuff that we will release for free next to paid content.

H) You didn't update the game for ages and now you want more money!

To our regret, this complaint comes from people who stopped playing the game altogether and didn't launch the game up for a long time. A review with a few hours in total and zero hours in the last 2 weeks or more, cannot be taken seriously and doesn't provide useful feedback to anyone. This is just venting some hate based on an ill informed opinion.

Contrary to that, we want to deliver a more enjoyable gaming experience to everyone! That is what indie development is about. If you are angry about shaddy business practices and excessive monetization, let big games corporations know, not passionate indie developers who try to provide the best possible game they can.

Check out the Change-Log to find out what new stuff you got.

I) The game is P2W!

This point is really upsetting. We have yet to find out, why this game turned into pay to win by earning yourself some cosmetics. We guess, those who claim it is, have yet to find out themselves.

So here we are, don't fall for the haters, read our announcements and make up your mind after you collected all the facts. If you are still unhappy with the decision after reading all of this, please provide us feedback on how we can improve your experience with the game. In case, you still have questions, we happily answer them and clarify everything up as well. :cta_emo1:
