Welcome to our twenty-fourth developers update for Call to Arms! We will use these updates to keep you posted on the progress of the development and features.
We have been silent lately, however, we weren’t turning our thumbs, in fact the game has progressed tremendously over the past few weeks. The reason for our silence is, that we have been moving to a new and larger office. During development of Call to Arms, our team has grown steadily and it was time to do the next step. Needless to say, that we wanted to accomplish this without adding any further delays to the game, so our focus has been on a smooth transition and we are happy to let you know that we succeeded in doing so. :cta_emo1:
So what have we been working on in the meantime?
Improved 3rd person controls
We spent a lot of time on improving the 3rd and 1st person controls in-game. Better animations, better controls, better heightmap interaction for easier and more accurate movement. Currently we are working on squad movement orders via 3rd person and hit direction indicators, as well as a recoil system to make shooting much more of a skilled experience.
Sounds
The sound environment of battles has been completely reworked. Weapons differ if you are shooting in close or far distance, that leads to a much more natural sound environment. This was necessary to make the 3rd and 1st person experience closer to reality and this added a much better overall experience.
New factions
The new factions are also shaping up very well and soon after release of the game, we should be able to deliver you the first content pack with lots of exciting new equipment and units. Can you guess which tanks you can see on the screenshots?
Map pack
We are also working on a multiplayer map pack, we expect it to be done by the end of next month. Furthermore, the singleplayer campaign is receiving extra work and polish to make it more interesting and challenging to play.
Helicopters
We think, the screenshot is speaking for itself! :cta_emo10:
Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.
Have a nice weekend!
