Well… it’s been a tough road, but here we are!
We finally made it to the release of the Pre-Alpha of The Path into the Abyss, and here’s a quick overview of what you’ll find in it.
What’s included in this Pre-Alpha Demo?
A 2x1 km map (just a small slice of the final world).
A full story chapter: “Carhué’s Journey.”
Abyss Life AI System (Beta): full world simulation with persistent NPCs.
Freeplay mode (explore non-linearly with no time limits).
Weapon modding, attachments, and crafting.
Faction System (each faction has its own interests and goals).
Ability to switch factions (Oriundos or Yacarés).
Contacts System: befriend or antagonize any NPC, regardless of their allegiance.
AI Companions: recruit NPCs and build your own crew.
A variety of animated consumables.
What is NOT included in this demo?
The final full map (it doesn’t reach downtown Buenos Aires yet).
Trading and barter (system not implemented yet).
Main communities and bases (they belong to other territories).
Only one creature type is present (Zancudo).
Limited weapon selection (for now).
NPC animation and visual polish are still work-in-progress.
NPC voice acting is not final.
What’s the goal of this Demo?
The key is to present the atmosphere, the mood, and the tone.
To give a glimpse of where the main story is heading, while also offering a free, open sandbox to play around as much as you want.
Think of it as a “first chapter.”
Like watching part of the first season of a show you like.
Will the demo be improved in the future?
Yes. There's a lot of unfinished map content that will be polished and added over the next few weeks.
As new features and mechanics come in, the demo will continue to improve.
It will remain limited to the current territory, and might include items or weapons planned for later.
We’re keeping some things for Early Access… which things? Ah…
Is there going to be Early Access?
YES. But since we still need to earn our bread by making the content worth it, we want to polish and add more before announcing it.
You’ll probably find bugs or weird behavior, so it would help us a lot if you can report them!
Welcome to the Abyss, comrades!
