Prisoners!
Today is the day that we throw you in the slammer and flush the key down Warden Dean Hall's toilet. HURRAY! Here's the lo-down on what you can expect from the first Early Access build:
The Escapists Early Access features:
- A prison that's custom built for the Early Access: The Fhurst Peak Correctional Facility.
- Three jobs to keep you occupied: Laundry, Workshop and the Metalshop
- 9 playabale avatars
- Over 100 items, many of which you'll have to craft to use!
- Visitor NPCs
- Prison Warden
- Employment officer
- And, of course, several ways to escape!
Early Access Bug Reporting
This is an Early Access game, so you should expect to find bugs, problems, issues and general mishaps in the game. Should you do so, it's vital that you report them to us in the Report a Problem forum so that we can get them sorted out. Make sure you follow the instructions on how to report a problem carefully!
Giving us Feedback
Our other objective during Early Access is to make tweaks to the game based on how players play it.
Here's a list of stuff we want you to feedback to us about:
- New items
- Crafting recipes
- Dialogue / NPC reactions
- Small aesthetical changes
- Character ideas
We're not looking for the following at this stage of Early Access:
- Multiplayer ideas
- New game modes
- Huge, gamechanging features
The Escapists Early Access build is currently in the English language only. We're really keen to get the game fully localised for the comfort of non-EN players, and we're working hard to make that happen as soon as possible.
We expect that Early Access will last until the end of this year, with a full release launching in Early 2015. Please understand that this may change in line with developments during the Early Access - rest assured that we'll always keep you updated here.
Oh! One last, important thing:
The Escapists is priced at £6.99 / €8.99 / $9.99 initially. This price will increase as we add more content to the game and we'll always try to give you notice in the forums before these increases happen. In short - the cheapest time to get involved with The Escapists is right now!
The Escapists will launch at around 5PM BST / 9AM PST Wednesday 20th August (today!). We can't wait to see your escape plans!
