| Hello, everyone! This is RomanticDev, PD of The Player Who Can’t Level Up. Lately, there’s been a running joke within our dev team: “At this rate, we’ll finish making the game before we finish climbing the tower ourselves…” That’s how quickly things are moving! (Our coffee and carb intake is equally alarming.) For this week’s Dev Log, we’d love to share some behind-the-scenes moments from the development of The Player Who Can’t Level Up. We may be a little tired, but we’re doing our best to keep the laughs, and the fun alive. Come see how our week went! |
This Week’s Highlights
Your Feedback from Tokyo Game Show & Illustar Fes
We were thrilled to meet so many of you at TGS 2025 and Illustar Fes! Hearing your thoughts firsthand was incredibly meaningful.
One line in particular stuck with us: “I may be a level 1 noob who can’t level up, but this game is so fun!”
A bit harsh? Maybe. But honestly? That’s the emotional loop we were hoping for and it meant the world to hear it.
Good news: We’re already applying your feedback to our next demo build. Look forward to what’s coming!

Combat Balance Tweaks
Based on feedback from the demo build, we’ve been tuning skill combos and growth pacing to dial up the fun factor.
Testing new growth curves again this week!
QA Feedback: “Feels like I’m fighting their HP now, not their attack patterns.”

New Tower Concept Art (feat. the Art Team’s Box Obsession)
This week, our art team revealed concept art for the upper floors of the tower, themed around Aethermark.
It’s a visually rich space powered by high-density Aether energy. The area features various forms of Aether designs woven into the environment.
Aether
- The energy source that powers the alternate tower
- All monsters and bosses inside are under its control
Internal nickname for the zone: Box World.
Still early, but it’s already oozing presence and style!
Sneak Peek: What’s Next
In our next PD Note, we’ll reveal one of the regions included in the final demo build!
It’s still getting its final touches, but we wanted to give our community a preview. Expect a new theme, new enemies, and fresh challenges.
If there’s anything you want to know or see in the next log, drop us a message on our Discord!

Wrapping Up
Game development is a lot like climbing a tower. You lose stamina with every step, but the view gets better and your confidence grows.
Your support is our healing potion. We’ll keep climbing with a smile, and maybe some caffeine, and see you again next week!
