The servers belong to SOF Studios and are provided for the whole playing community's use. We have a small player base so it is critical players, including new players, feel welcome on the servers. The community requested Vote To Kick be added so they could vote out disruptive players who were ruining the game for others through excessive bad behavior. When this feature was introduced, the studio was clear it was not to be abused.
Unfortunately, we have received a large number of reports recently that this feature is being ABUSED. Rather than move to disabling the feature at this point, we have decided to clarify VTK's intended use and the possible penalties for its abuse.
The goal of the Vote Kick system is to provide the ability for players to immediately remove disruptive players.
The Vote Kick system may be used in any situation in which a user is disrupting the team
Common Examples:
- Mic Spam
- Text Spam
- Excessive TKing
- Purposeful Team injuring
- AFK
- Racial
- Offensive behavior.
Abuse of the Vote Kick (Examples Below)
- To make room for a clan or friend
- To remove a new player
- You don't like someone's different play styles
- You think the player is not very good
- Anything that could be considered outside of the approved reasons.
Penalties for VTK abuse include
First Step – A private discussion with a Moderator
Second Step:
1st Offense – 1 week Ban
2nd Offense – 2 week Ban
3rd Offense – Permanent Ban
