Survivor Diary #1
I don’t remember the last time I ate a god-damn orange.
For real, I mean it. Sticky. Sweet. Little moments of heaven, refreshing right after a run.
Running. We’re doing a lot of that these days. House to house, street to sewer.
Harrison and the kids made a stand at the Farm, and all that did was draw a whole bunch of zeds into the area: “Buffet’s now open!!”.
We’ve been trying to get out of Butler County, but every path is swarming with those things. Take the roads, get eaten alive by all those idiots who ignored the ‘Stay at Home’ order. Take the woods and get eaten by a mountain lion, bear, or – more realistically – a park ranger. Great choices, huh?
Heard snippets of a broadcast last night about the Pennsylvania National Guard still running evacuations to Harrisburg somewhere on the other side of Ingoldsby Dam. Damn, I didn’t realize the Guard had any guts left after the battering they took at Bull Creek.
Hell – it’s the only chance we’ve got. We’ll need to find a way to contact them – but there’s a whole lotta Z between here and home.
Man. I really want a god-damn orange.
Note from Maxx:
We’re thrilled to show you the first of our Launch Map Showcase!
Take a look at Night of the Living Dead – a haunting journey through a county that’s swarming with teeth, terror and tons of zeds.
You’ll find yourself sprinting between the logs of a sawmill, dodging claws as you fight your way through town, trying not to stray from the path in the National Park, throwing caution to the wind and blowing your way through blockades, and slipping on blood in a secure facility. And if this isn’t scary enough, your path through Butler County won’t always be the same...
We’re also using this as an opportunity to launch our Survivor Diaries – think of it as a mini-blog with a world-building twist, where we’ll talk about some of our coolest features through the voice of someone living through our version of Hell. Follow along, and let us know what you think! Our Survivor might even ask for your advice in future Diaries...
As always, we treat the words ‘Early Access’ the way they’re meant to be treated, particularly as we’re a team working around the world, many of us in our spare time, balancing NMRIH2 alongside supporting our families and full-time careers. Launching in Early Access gives us the opportunity to open up our production and growth to people who want to play an early and active role in our development journey – sloppy undead warts and all! By releasing in EA, our sales will help us provide the means for our team to keep working on the game through to Version 1.
We’re hard at work making something awesome, and Early Access is a big milestone on that journey, and it’s exactly that: a milestone!
We have a lot of things planned beyond EA, from optimization to more maps; new weapons to feedback-led improvements. By joining us on this journey, you’re playing a key role in making NMRIH2 the best it can be. We can’t wait to have you along for the ride.
